Picture Angola 2000 - a photographic exhibition on Angola by Eleanor Curtis.

Picture Angola 2000 is the second photographic exhibition of black and white photographs on Angola by Eleanor Curtis.

Picture Angola 2000 describes  Angola and its people through a series of images ranging from aid delivery, land mine removal, and offshore oil production, to dramatic landscapes, isolated tribal communities
and portraits of everyday life.

Eleanor  Curtis has travelled through 15 of Angola's 18 provinces since December 1998. She has collected an archive of photographs which go far beyond the stereotypical images of the 26 year old civil war and has worked in some of the most difficult to access and remote areas.

The exhibition has shown at the following venues:

Temple Bar Gallery, Dublin;
Gallery 27, Cork Street, London;
British Embassy, Luanda, Angola;
European Parliament, Brussels, Belgium;
St George's Chapel, Windsor Castle, London.

All prints in Picture Angola 2000 are hand finished gold toned printed on 16 x 20 thick fibre paper. Prints are for sale as a limited edition of 6.

Picture Angola 2000 is sponsored by Sonangol, the national oil company of Angola. All film and paper is sponsored by ILFORD.
